DOZY’NİN HZ. PEYGAMBER VE HADİSLERE DAİR BAZI İDDİALARINA İSMAİL FENNİ ERTUĞRUL’UN CEVAPLARI

Abstract

"Essaisurl Histoiredel Islamisme" Hollandalı oryantalist Pieter Anne Dozy (1820-1883)tarafından yazılmıştır. Kitap, Kuran, vahiy, peygamberlik ve hadislerle ilgili bazı konular ile İslamtarihinde meydana gelen bir takım olayları incelemektedir. Eser, Abdullah Cevdet tarafındanTarih-i İslamiyet adıyla Türkçeye çevrildikten sonra bazı entelektüellerin dikkatini çekmiş ve geçOsmanlı dönemi entelektüelleri tarafından pek çok reddiye yazılmıştır. Bunlardan hadislerle ilgiliiddiaları içeren ilk çalışma "İzâle-i Şükûk" adı altında İsmail Fenni Ertuğrul tarafından yapılmıştır.Ertuğrul, çalışmasında Dozy'nin söz konusu eserlerindeki sünnet ve hadislerle ilgili iddialarınayanıt vermiştir. Bu çalışmada, Dozy'nin iddiaları ve Ertuğrul'un cevapları incelenerek, Osmanlıİmparatorluğu'nun son dönemindeki oryantalistlerin iddialarına ilişkin ilk çalışmaların mahiyetihakkında tespitler elde edilmeye çalışılmıştır

"Essaisurl Histoiredel Islamisme” was written by the Dutch orientalist Pieter Anne Dozy (1820- 1883). The book examines some issues related to the Qur'an, revelation, prophethood and hadiths along with some events that took place in the history of Islam. The book was translated by Abdullah Cevdet to Turkish with the name of Tarih-i Islamiyet. The book attracted some intellectuals’ attention and a lot of refutations were written by the late ottoman period's intellectual. Among these, the first study, which includes claims about hadiths, was made by Ismail Fenni Ertugrul under the name "İzâle-i Şükûk". In his study, Ertugrul gave the answers to the Dozy's claims regarding the sunnah and hadiths in his work in question. In this study, It was attempted to obtain determinations about the nature of the first studies on the claims of orientalists in the last period of the Ottoman Empire by examined the claims' of Dozy and the answers of Ertugrul.
